Apollo Moreno’s care and thoughtfulness guided us through the sad time of the loss of my dear husband and will always be a cherished and comforting memory. His patience during the planning and compassionate help throughout was exceptional. Apollo facilitated absolutely everything, every detail, from creating a beautiful portrait of my husband from a cherished family photo along with a keepsake booklet with photos and my husband’s obituary, to arranging the room with flowers, family photos, and moments, to monitoring the food in the break room and its cleanup. On September 17, 2023 our lives stopped! My nephew Desean Foster had succumb to his autoimmune disease. Desean battled multiple organ failure. Our lives stopped suddenly and we had to plan a funeral! We talked to Emily and she took care of our family and made sure we knew everything and made things easier from the first conversation to making sure we had his ashes! Lorraine and Apollo were also very professional and made sure our family had everything we needed and more. Burns Kish funeral home will forever have a place in our hearts and we thank you!

I came home tonight to care for my mom. We lost our beloved Paul Larson my dad last September. There are no words to describe what the staff did for our family. I came home opened mail and found documents so precious to Thank you. Not all funeral professionals go above and beyond. Apollo and Lorraine were both amazing during this difficult time. My husband's body was sent to Mexico, Lorraine and Apollo took care of all the paperwork. We had visitation here and it was beautiful, everyone told me the next day that the funeral home did a great job. My sister passed away on 1/13/2022 and it became my very first experience to handle funeral arrangements. She had been like a second mom to me, and her death left me the only remaining child in our family. Upon her death, the hospital where she had been being cared for, called upon Burns Kish to retrieve her body. My very first inquiry to confirm that her body lie there introduced me to Brian Burns. I knew from that first conversation that I needed not consider any other facility to plan her repose. Brian and his staff, all the folks involved, all sincerely patient and professional, I knew there was no reason to look to any other facility for help with her arrangements. The Burns Kish facility is lovely, and so is the staff. They took charge and always wanting to know my thoughts, did a beautiful job. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Their professionalism shines through the sorrow one feels and brightens the day.

Let's be honest, no one ever wants to need a funeral director; if it were up to me, I wouldn't have needed one for at least another 20, 30 years but unfortunately that wasn't the case. My father passed away unexpectedly and it's the saddest time of my life to date. My siblings and I met with Renee the day after my dad's passing and I have to say, I truly believe my dad had a hand in putting Renee on our path. Renee was an absolute blessing. We held my mom’s funeral service with Burns-Kish Funeral Homes and they were absolutely amazing to work with. Emily took such great care of us. She could tell our brains were still reeling from our loss and she kept us on track with what we needed to do. She also checked in with us several times prior to the funeral to keep us posted and informed on all the arrangements as they were be taken care of. Everyone at the funeral home was very courteous and very professional and made us feel comfortable during this very challenging time. Even on the day of the funeral when we did not like the way our mom’s hair was combed, she took care of it and changed it so it looked more like what we were familiar with. They were so very accommodating that I don’t feel like I can give them enough praise. The staff at Burns Kish Funeral Home was simply wonderful to work with. It is such a stressful time in anyone's life, the death of a loved one...and they were so comforting, accommodating, professional and helpful. My mom passed suddenly at a time when everyone is celebrating holidays, so, feeling quite lost and overwhelmed, my family was able to get thru it without worry. Our Mother recently passed a short time ago. My brothers, myself, and other family members had gone to meet with Brian Burns at Burns Kish Funeral Home in Munster. Brian was very kind, compassionate, and understanding of what we were all going through during this deeply emotional time. He spoke with us for an extended length of time while explaining everything and giving us options when we were unsure of particulars. The Munster location is very beautiful and spacious. We were very happy that we were able to create a very special tribute for our Mother. We all miss her dearly. Burns-Kish was extremely caring, kind, and dedicated to help us plan such a hard day for our family. The owner Brian allowed us to text him all the random changes and thoughts we had during this time and never complained once. He responded quickly and his staff was gracious and kind as well. Ruth walked me through pre-planning and even stayed late to meet me since I was coming from out of town. Emily was calming and helpful through everything as well and handled everything before we even thought of it. There’s plenty of space inside and outside with a patio and kids room. We set up a video tribute and had couches and a kitchenette area to be as comfortable as our large family needed. I would recommend this company to be at your side and we couldn’t thank them enough.

Don't be fooled by grandiose funeral chapels surrounded by lots of asphalt that may currently be the most popular place to go but if you were wise, you'd drive right on by and head to Burns Kish Funeral Home, a long trusted, an established company that has a great reputation to back it. We had a funeral go through Burns Kish and we were most satisfied and pleased but like fools we didn't go to where we were treated honestly, professionally and respectively the next time a death occurs. Instead of staying with Burns Kish, we drove up the street where our family trust was violated, we were told lies, gouged in price and told we were the worst family ever. However, they couldn't answer me as to how they came to this awful conclusion. Funeral homes should never advocate for familial unity when their was none prior to the passing of the decedent. They shouldn't pass judgement or stick their nose where it doesn't belong, to put it mildly. Unfortunately, we weren't at Burns Kish. We learned a great lesson and will do my best to spread the news. Burns Kish is the best funeral home in Munster. You can trust them to meet your needs at a time of grief and loss. They will respect you. I've been there and I know! Trust is everything when it comes to funeral homes and Burns Kish is a company you can trust Highly Recommended!

The service, staff, and facilities at Burns Kish are beyond superb. This family-owned business had a personal touch and provided an additional level of comfort to the family and friends who attended the services of our loved one that way beyond what we could have asked. This facility cozy like.a lush home and has an elevator and many beautiful areas to sit and reflect. They gave us the white glove treatment from beginning to end. This facility also has an eating area that was fantastic to place food for attendees which were a huge plus. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Kind and compassionate people! Biggest funeral home I've been to. We come from a big family and most of us live in Chicago. So it was huge, plus close to the expressway. Not only did we have access to one lounge but both. The visitation room was very big. Perfect for our family and friends. Another plus was they had a child play room. That's a huge help for those who have children. Most funeral homes are small, but not this one. The weather was horrible when we had the wake. Many people arrived late into the evening. That being said, we lost track of time and left at 10pm. Most places would've announced the wake was over, but not here. Very respectful, kind, and compassionate people at Burn-Kish Funeral Homes. Kind and compassionate, Emily and Brian were great in helping us plan services for our Father. They assisted with the newspaper for obit, church, florists, video, etc. and every detail was noted. The facility is clean, welcoming and warm. The Cafe area for family members to take a break is a great bonus. Those can be long days and nights, so that was really nice. We have a lot of family from Chicago, so the location was perfect for family members to get off of the expressway and find the funeral home in Munster.
